It’s hard to believe but this Friday Cliff Quinn, Matt Telford, Doug Copping and myself will board a plane destined for India. It was just over two years ago when I was interviewed by the editor of National Geographic Traveler when I said that my next river trip would be on the Ganges. As time pressed on the hopes of traveling to India let alone seeing the Ganges was beginning to seem out of reach but thanks to some interesting developments and a new friend, this dream will soon be a reality.
If you want to follow the fun please follow my twitter at @brettonthewater or become my friend on facebook by searching for Brett Rogers (firstname.lastname@example.org). I hope to do a post on this blog while I am in India but 99% of my updates will be through twitter and facebook. Don’t miss out!
A big special thanks to Kensington Tours who have gone out of their way to ensure we have support throughout this expedition. From hotels, logistics, local guides, and transportation (even the row boat!), all of these details have been taken care of which is a huge help. If you’re in the market for a trip of a lifetime I can only suggest you checkout this well managed travel company. http://www.kensingtontours.com/
Once again The Canadian Outdoor Equipment Co has provided me further support just like they did for the Mississippi expedition. Thanks to owners Chris and Tim. If you’re looking for a unique gift for the holidays or need some gear yourself, checkout their website or visit them at their store in Port Credit, their products are second to none.
Finally a special thanks to Patagonia Toronto who has supported my work and provided us with some great discounts, The Explorers Club which is a great organization to be a member of, and the Anderson family who continues to believe in my dream to tell stories about water. Thanks to everyone.
See you on the riv!
